Most, if not all assembled at Mount Panorama for the Bathurst 1000 this week will be aware Holden is absent from the Great race, though Assistant Police Commissioner Brett Greentree may have missed the memo.
AC Greentree fronted media at Mount Panorama on Thursday to announce the launch of Operation Bathurst 2023 which will bring an increased Police Prescence to the greater Bathurst community as well as the Mount Panorama circuit precinct, as hundreds of thousands descend on the area for the Australian Motorsport Spectacular.
When asked for his tip in this Sunday’s 60th of running of the 1000km race, AC Greentree simply uttered “Holden.”
General Motors brand Chevrolet are fielding 15 Camaro ZL1 Supercars in this year’s event, following the demise of the Holden brand globally, while the Ford Motor Company are fielding 13 Mustang GT Supercars.
In line with the 60 year anniversary of the Bathurst 1000 this weekend, New South Wales Historic Police Museum are exhibiting a collection of historic Police vehicles in the carpark of the National Motor Racing Museum.
This year’s 1000km race will take place at 11:15am on Sunday 8th of October.
